Look at Her Grow: 3 months

Isabelle is already 3 months old! I can't believe how fast time is flying. It feels like we just brought her home from the hospital yesterday. She's learning and growing more everyday. She's such a good baby, and we are so blessed to have her.

Growth: She's growing like a weed! We won't know her exact weight and height until her 4 month appointment, but she's definitely gained a little meat on those thighs since the last checkup! She's almost completely out of her 0-3 month clothes, but can't quite wear all of her 3-6 month outfits. The tops fit, but most of the pants don't...so we're kinda between sizes. I don't buy a lot of clothes yet because she's growing so fast. She's in size 2 diapers, and I think she'll be in them for a little while before we go up to size 3.

Development: She's discovered her hands and she's learning how to use them more and more each day. She can grab toys now, and of course she takes them straight to her mouth. She's very vocal these days. I think she loves the sound of her own voice. Kicking, blowing spit bubbles, and squealing are some of her favorite things to do now. She has just the best smile I think I've ever seen. All you have to do is talk to her and she lights up like a Christmas tree.

Sleep: Oh boy. It seems like we're back to square one here recently. She was doing so good! Sleeping eight hours at a time, but it's like any little change in her normal routine throws her completely off. We had a houseguest over the weekend, and since then she's been waking up at least twice during the night. She doesn't wake up crying for hours or anything. It's pretty easy to get her back to bed, but getting our sleep interrupted is pretty tough! Hopefully I can get her back on track pretty soon.

Feeding: She's a great eater. Since I'm out of school for winter break, we've been nursing more than bottle feeding. I still give her a bottle before bed to make sure she's getting enough to sleep, but for the most part, during the day I nurse her. We're both enjoying the bonding time so much. We didn't get this chance when she first came home because I had to go back to school a week and a half later. Thank God for winter break!

In other news...baby girl got her ears pierced a few days ago! She did awesome. She barely even cried, and she was smiling not even 2 minutes later. Mommy was scared to death, but she is cute as can be with her new piercings!

Merry Christmas!!
