Look at Her Grow: Princess Isabelle Turns 7 Months Old!

Somehow I blinked too long and Izzy was already 7 months old! Where does time go?! She's been moving and shaking this month. I can barely keep up! Here's an update:

At her last doctor's appointment, she weighed in at 18 pounds 12 ounces! She's in the 80th percentile for her weight and 90th percentile for her height. She's still wearing size 6 to 9 month clothes and size 3 diapers and is now in a size 3 shoe. According to her pediatrician, she's growing just as she should be!

She's on the move! She hasn't started actually crawling yet. Not a traditional crawl, anyway. She just kind of slides from place to place. But that doesn't stop her from getting where she needs to go! She can move across a room faster than you can say "Isabelle!". She even pulled herself up to a standing position a couple days ago! She knows her name now and responds by turning her head when I call her, but sometimes she just flat ignores me when she has better things to do. She even claps now! She loves to play "Patty Cake", and she loves to celebrate. She laughs and claps her hands whenever anyone says "Yaaaay!!". I love it! She recognizes Daddy on FaceTime and lights up like a Christmas tree whenever we call him, and she still thinks her big brother is the funniest person on the planet. She throws a fit protests loudly now whenever I leave the room even for a second. She doesn't quite understand yet that Mommy's just in the next room and not gone forever, but we'll get there.

Sleep is a sore subject in the Gladiator household these days. We're still having some trouble getting Izzy to sleep through the night consistently. Some weeks she'll sleep 9 hours straight for days,  and then some nights she'll wake up after only 3 hours. We'll get there. Pray for us.

She's still a great eater. She eats her vegetables just at eagerly as she eats her fruits. We recently started formula, and it was a pretty smooth transition. We had to deal with a little constipation, but nothing prune juice couldn't handle. She still nurses at night, in the morning, and on the weekends, but I don't pump as much as I used to. I send about two bottles of expressed milk with her to the babysitter each day. So she's still mostly drinking breastmilk, but now there's not as much pressure on me to produce enough milk for each day. I felt very guilty about starting formula at first, but then I realized that 7 months exclusively pumping as a pharmacy student was pretty darn good and I gave myself a pat on the back.

So there you have it! Izzy's been a busy girl this month! I can't wait to see what's going to happen next month!
